Fred Perry

Christopher Ræburn has collaborated with British heritage brand Fred Perry for a Spring/Summer 2013 capsule collection of three polo shirts that incorporate the brand’s signature military aesthetic, with Fred Perry’s timeless and preppy style.

The Christopher Ræburn × Fred Perry collection is inspired by three iconic camouflage designs used in the 1960s-1990s. The first piece sports the German ‘Raindrop’ camo used in the 1960s and 1970s. Reservedly striking and practical, the design acts as a totem for the rest of the collection as well as the Christopher Raeburn craft. In keeping with the first design, the second draws on the American desert camo used in the early 1990s, which purposefully interfered with the pixelated images of night-vision technology. The final design comes in a crisp snow white camo, referencing the German uniform developed for 1960s mountain warfare. The three shirts are a subtle nod to military trends without being too over-the-top, marking their wearer as a man of both style and substance.

“I like the way that Fred Perry have always been relevant to different generations, having grown up with Quadrophenia as a massive reference that has never really left me; it’s still a part of my creative practice. I wanted to bring a little of the Raeburn world to Fred Perry.”
