DESIGN INTERNSHIP

Christopher RÆBURN is currently looking for a highly creative student that possess an impeccable attention to detail, is committed and reliable and is looking to develop their skills within a fast-paced environment. As a Design Intern you will assist and support the Creative Director and design team for upcoming collections. You will be working in a team of interns and assigned tasks, on a daily basis related to important creative projects and alongside our in-house machinist/s you will assist with the development of our seasonal collections. You will gain valuable experience in a real-business environment and this internship opportunity will enable you to apply your academic experience in an intellectual and challenging working environment. All applicants must still be in education and have a good technical understanding.

ACTIVITIES

  • Assist the team with pattern cutting including tracing and minor pattern amends and draping
  • Be involved in developing collections presented at LFW
  • Source fabric
  • Conduct research and develop creative ideas about upcoming collections
  • Assist the team with sample developments
  • Support the creative team with day-to-day assignments
  • Assist and support the team with general administrative, coordinating and ad-hoc tasks in the studio as necessary
  • Assist and support the team with general administrative, coordinating, communicating, logistics and ad-hoc tasks
  • Hand stitching
  • General studio upkeep
  • Creating specification drawings on Adobe illustrator

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Working towards a degree or equivalent qualification with a focus on fashion and/or marketing
  • The ability to take on tasks autonomously and prioritise
  • Time management
  • Hands on, can-do attitude
  • Highly organised
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Highly proficient to use Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • A love of table tennis

You will be based in the company HQ; Studio 1, The Textile Building, 29a Chatham Place, Hackney, London, E9 6NY, United Kingdom

Internship vacancies at Christopher RÆBURN are only open for applicants who are available for a minimum of 3 months

Please note that this is an unpaid internship position but Christopher RÆBURN will cover up to £100 p/m travel to/from the studio.
